Monofilament has been a staple material for texas rigging since the beginning. It is a cost efficient approach to tangle-free and time efficient decoy rigging.

The large diameter 500 pound monofilament we use has just the right stiffness that promotes less tangles and a longer lifespan, but enough flexibility to hold less memory. This line has survived through many different environments from scalding hot weather, to bone chilling freezes.

Aluminum crimps are standard on most texas rigs in the market. They are cost efficient like the monofilament, and they work for what they were designed to do. We tested these crimps under a load and held nearly 250 pounds before slipping! They should never undergo that much stress, but take comfort in knowing the abuse they can withstand.

What sets these crimps apart from normal aluminum crimps, is the process in which they are crimped. The die we use compresses the crimp without damaging the line. It also creates wings on the sides of the crimp to keep the snap from sliding ever over it.
