Premium Coated Cable Leader

  • Coated Cable

With the right coated steel cable, texas rigs can last a lifetime. After much testing, we believe we have found the best material to use for coated steel cable texas rigs. Our cable is much larger with less coating compared to traditional cable used on texas rigs.

With less coating and more cable, the crimps are actually able to bite into the cable. With 3/32 cable, the crimp mostly bites into the coating and is almost totally depending on it to not slip.

The much larger cable has almost ZERO memory. This creates far less tangles and also allows the snap swivels to continuously slide freely up and down the cable.

  • Copper Crimp Sleeve

The crimp is the piece that binds everything together. The rig is only as strong as your crimp since it is the weakest link. We tested many different sleeve materials and styles. Copper is a much more durable material when compared to aluminum. It can withstand much more heat, cold, and damage without swelling, contracting, or fracturing.

When tested, the copper crimp was able to hold over 400 pounds on the cable before starting to slip! The standard aluminum counterpart held right at 250 pounds. Although decoy rigs should never endure this much stress, we believe this is a factor of longevity.

  • Crimp Protector

Crimp protectors have never been a standard component on texas rigs. They protect the crimps from any damage they may encounter in the field, therefore extending their lifespan.

In addition to protection, they make the rig even more weedless. Grass and debris can catch on the sharp edges of crimps. With the crimp protector, nothing catches on the crimps.
